Hi, I'm Akos.
Here’s the brutal truth about sharing the gospel in today’s culture:
You can’t just share the gospel like it’s 2012. You can’t just talk to secular people about Jesus without getting some sort of pushback – sometimes serious pushback.
You see, Western culture has shifted dramatically. Whereas in previous generations, Christians were seen (at worst) as misguided do-gooders, today Christians are often seen as bigots whose teaching is oppressive and harmful – especially to sexual minorities.
Increasingly, we’re not just seen as wrong – we’re seen as bad, even evil.
So more of our gospel conversations end in arguments...which often keeps the gospel from getting a fair hearing.
Some people think if I avoid the thorny issues of judgement – and focus on God’s love, that will be enough to prevent an argument.
Others stop sharing the gospel or only share it sparingly.
Both strategies may decrease hostility, but they don’t solve the real problem of how to share the gospel faithfully, and with all people in a way that doesn’t end in an argument.
So, what’s the alternative?
You need to learn how to approach conversations in a way that de-escalates tension rather than inflaming it.
And I can teach you the mindset and techniques you need to have gospel conversations that don't end in argument, but land on the gospel.
Akos gives a great framework for thinking about sharing the gospel.
